Multi-Dwelling Unit
From FiOSWiki
A Multi-Dwelling Unit, or MDU, is a building that contains multiple, separate residences within the same structure, such as an apartment or condominium building.
Historically, installing Fiber to the premises in Multi-Dwelling Units had been a technological challenge, due to the signal loss that would occur if the fiber was bent too much. However, with Corning's invention of a new, much more bendable fiber, in 2007, the possibilities for deploying FiOS to MDUs have been greatly increased.
